"All we wanted was to get better gas mileage and got 430HP to the rear wheels!"

Dave Woods's '96 Rag top
It all started with my dad telling me to get a K&N air filter.... I noticed the improvement in gas mileage and it seemed to run smoother (imagination).  So I asked what else I could do... dad said "larger throttle body" So I got one...

Before I knew it I was on the dark path to becoming a speed freak.  Next I replaced my squeaky / shaky clutch with a Centerforce Dual Friction.  Then I got 3.73 gears and the K&N FIPK.  That was cool... I actually felt a difference.  Next was a MAC catback with 3.5 inch tips... now I heard the difference.  I decided to do something "big" so I ordered some PI heads, ported and with cams of course, from online-racer.  Holy cow Batman.... you car is slower than mine now!  That was the ignition spark and I was full of wet NOS dreams.  I didn't want NOS though... decided to go blower.  So I had a custom engine built - thanks L&R and online racer (Ed)!  Sweet engine, all forged, etc.  Needed a tranny to back it up - Viper T-56.  Had to get another clutch (doh!) McLeod street twins with flywheel.

Then finally the big one - ProCharger D1-SC.  Yes.... YES!!!!  I like!!!  12psi pulley only made 8psi (due to ported heads and low compression I guess).  So I am having it swapped for 16psi pulley (should make about 12).

Computer / dyno tune not done, so here's the numbers @ 8psi... 430 to the wheels baby!

There's obviously a lot more to the story, but I am in a rush... gotta go to my 2nd job to pay off all my auto expenses!

This is one perfect rag  California Rag-top Pony, great job Dave!!
