The 2005 Ford Mustang GT will be the
first mainstream production Mustang to crank out 300 horsepower. In the
past, 300 horsepower was the exclusive domain of Mach 1, Cobra, Boss or
SVT Mustangs.
The new 4.6-liter engine has 40 more
horsepower than the current V-8, and over 50 percent more power than the
289-cubic-inch V-8 in the classic 1964 Mustang.
