Ford Special Vehicle Team has turned up the heat in the hot hatchback
segment with the announcement that a European Appearance Package will be
offered on the 2003 SVT Focus 3-door. This special edition Focus is one of
two new SVT feature vehicles planned for 2003 – the other being a 10th
Anniversary edition SVT Mustang Cobra. Both were unveiled at the 2002 SEMA
show in Las Vegas, where Ford SVT marked 10 years as the leader in factory
performance vehicles.
“The
Ford Focus has best-in-class driving dynamics and a European flavor,”
said Ford SVT Marketing and Sales Manager Tom Scarpello. “The SVT Focus
European Appearance Package takes it to a new level, creating the best
equipped, most exciting production Focus yet.”
The
European Appearance Package SVT Focus, offered exclusively on the 3-door
model, features an upscale interior with European flair – including
black leather-trimmed front RecaroTM sport seats, matching leather door
panel inserts and rear leather seating surfaces. The exterior is set off
by 17x7-inch, multi-spoke, Dark Argent wheels (similar to those offered on
Europe's Ford ST170), plus two new exclusive colors, Screaming Yellow and
Competition Orange. The package is also available across the standard 2003
SVT Focus color palette, including Vermillion Red, CD Silver, and Pitch
Black.
What
makes the European Appearance Package even more desirable is that it
includes every optional content package available on the SVT Focus: the
290-watt Audiophile Stereo System (featuring a six-disc, in-dash CD
player, premium speakers and eight-inch subwoofer); the Winter Package
(which adds traction control, heated front seats, and an engine block
heater); a power sunroof; and high-intensity discharge “HID” headlamps
(the first application of HID technology on a SVT vehicle).
The
European Appearance Package SVT Focus will be available in the spring of
